The rose is almost completely finished in black and white.I am usually tempted to fiddle with it at this stage (the horrifying artist trait of not knowing when to stop) but I find that any work I do in fine tuning it now will be undone by adding color. Why? Color will take out the highlights and flatten the areas I've shaped. I will have to scratch them in again.
So as long as I have my strong darks and lights I will be fine to move on to the next step. I can't wait; color is going to really make this flower sparkle.
